Laminate
It is a type of restoration known as leaf porcelain among the people. Unlike zirconium, "laminate" refers to the type of restoration, not a material. There are multiple materials that can be used for laminate. It can be applied from composite laminate made with filling materials that can be applied in the same session in the clinic, to feldspat porcelain laminate produced by hand in the laboratory with pure porcelain. The material selection is determined by the experience of the physician, the patient's needs, expectations and economic preferences. The common point in the form of application is to take measurements on the front surface of the tooth, either without abrasion or by 0.3-0.7 mm abrasion, and the restoration is adhered.
The retention of laminate restorations is only on the front surface of the tooth and since the laminates are fine precision restorations, its use requires more attention than full crowns. They are known as the most aesthetic restorations because they are the closest restorations to natural teeth in light transmission.
